Theater – das ist Bühne und Zuschauerraum. Die Vorstellung beginnt zu einer bestimmten Uhrzeit. Ein großes Publikum schaut wenigen Schauspieler_innen zu. Doch was wäre, wenn Sie selbst entscheiden könnten? Wann Sie eine Vorstellung betreten, wie lange
Sie bleiben, wie und was Sie in welcher Reihenfolge sehen – ähnlich wie in Ausstellungsräumen? Nicht erst seit der Digitalisierung entwickelt das Theater neue Methoden und Formate, die sich in-between, also zwischen den Disziplinen darstellende und bildende Kunst ansiedeln – oder beide miteinander verbinden: Performative Installationen, die von Zuschauer_innen individuell entdeckt werden können, Performances, bei denen das Publikum frei entscheidet, wann es kommt und wann es geht, oder Erlebnisse, in denen Besucher_innen individuelle Erfahrungen machen – sei es in digitalen Welten oder in Formaten, die auf eine_n Zuschauer_in zugeschnitten sind.
Kunst & Diskurs
Das dreitägige Festival Inbetween rückt diesen transdisziplinären Grenzbereich in den Mittelpunkt und lädt das Publikum dazu ein, neue Hybride zwischen darstellender und bildender Kunst, zwischen Vorstellung und Ausstellung kennenzulernen: Neue Formate lassen Sie ganztags Räume und Produktionen entdecken, die mit alternativen Raum- und Zeitmodellen experimentieren und die Grenzen zwischen Bühne und Zuschauerraum auflösen – und damit neue Ansätze im Kontext des Stadttheaters erforschen.
Begleitend dazu ist das Publikum eingeladen, die Entwicklungen mit den Künstler_innen und Expert_innen aus Kunst und Wissenschaft zu reflektieren, mit ihnen ins Gespräch zu kommen und die Frage zu diskutieren: Wohin entwickelt sich das (Stadt-)Theater?

Theatre means stage and auditorium. The performance starts at a certain time. A big audience watches a few performers. But what if the audience was able to decide on its own? When to enter a performance, how long to stay, how and what to see in which order – like in exhibition spaces? Not just since digitalization theatre develops new methods and formats that are placed in-between the disciplines performance and visual arts – or connect both: performative installations that can be explored by the visitor individually, performances where the audience decides autonomously when to enter and to leave, or works, in which spectators can make individual experiences – be it in the digital world or in formats that are made for a single visitor.
Art & discourse
The three-day-festival Inbetween centers around the transdisciplinary border area and invites the audience to explore new hybrids between performance arts and visual arts, stage performance and exhibition: New formats will let you explore all day long spaces and productions that experiment with alternative spatial and time arrangements and suspend the borders between stage and auditorium – to investigate new approaches in the context of a public theatre.
Accompanying, the audience is invited to reflect and discuss the latest developments in table talks, keynotes, lectures and open discussions with the artists, curators and researchers: Where does the public theatre evolve to?
